Full Version: So, what did I miss?

So, the end of '07 and I haven't even had a chance to breath 3D in such a long time.

I mean, this was last thing I did (late in '06)

But I'm hoping to get things going in '08 and A:M is still my tool of choice. I've got a couple of irons in the fire on the comic book front (from one of the big 3) but it's not definite yet so I can't say much.

BUT WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS: What did I miss in the world of Hash and A:M? biggrin.gif

Welcome back smile.gif

In a nutshell.... you missed the bulk of TWO animation and the introduction of fluid dynamics and SSS rendering.

Cheers
Rodney
Patrick! smile.gif

What David said. TWO has been the focus but there has been a lot of activity around here in the past year.

Of interest you missed the arrival of some pretty talented artists with a similar interest as you in the superhero genre.
For instance, check out Lee Anderson's Ironman.

You really should consider collaborating with some of these up and coming talents.
As a team you'd be unstoppable.
Then... all you'd need is a good villian to thwart your plans. wink.gif

Outstanding news about your 'irons in the fire'.
Here's hoping they pan our for you.

WELCOME BACK PATRICK!

Hope to see you around here in the forums...

The BIG thing you missed is the newly arrived version 15...and a major overhaul of Hash's 15 year old pricing policy which is breathing new life into the community and ruffling a feather here and there. We are all now 'subscribers'.

I hope it's not the 'Helen Keller Treatment' for you... (when Helen would leave they would rearrange the furniture...)

Happy splining!

It is great to see you back here, Patrick!
Your artwork is always inspiring.
So, who is this Omniman? He looks rather like John Cleese on steroids. wink.gif

Good to see you again. It got quiet for a while but old faces are starting to come back. Did you know Hash is now virtual? The old church is gone.

Omniman is from Image comics "Invincible" comic. He's the Superman in this world, and Invincible's dad...He's also a murdering alien bent on taking over the Earth. wink.gif

I guess the Mustache should have given his evil intentions away:)

Man, I gotta go through Lee's Iron Man thread! Thanks Rodney.

I heard that the church is gone and Hash is now "virtual" when I talked to Heath at Comic-con, but in this day and age it doesn't seem like a big deal (but what do I know)

I'll have to look at this new v15 subscription model. I think I have the "Oz" disk (for v14, right?) so that should do me for just a bit, but if I'm reading the web model right, I wouldn't need a CD for that model, which would be nice (especially since I have to find my A:M disk for v14).

I gotta look at SSS, any good threads to give me a jumpstart?

As far as my "irons in the fire"...I'm gonna let them do their thing; if it happens it happens.

I'm actually thinking of starting a "Robot Visions" image series. I've always loved robots, but, at least in the comic realm, I've always done someone elses robots (FUSED!, Popbot, Gail). But that's not how I started. I used to do my own robots. I was looking at some of my older robot work...

...and thought it would be cool to start fresh with a new series of robots and designs. Still images at first, and then maybe some animation...

I just hope that work doesn't kill me like it did last year *sigh*

Rodney
I remember that second image but the other one is new to me.
I love the metal finish.

Robots and superheroes still facinate as much as they use to but I've had no time to explore those worlds. To consider drawing drawing, sketching, modeling, texturing... animating! Yikes. Thats a lot of work to do even if only for the fun of it.

I'm glad I can live vicariously through talented artists like you.
I for one want to see a lot more of your work so pace yourself while cranking out these extra curricular works.
At least you've got the day job to keep you afloat.

Have you ever considered doing commission work?
