I tried to open my beta of v15 this morning and was told that it had expired. HUH???
I have the Oz cd in my drive, and the version of beta15 I was trying to load was definitely published during that year. Not to mention that it is STILL that year. even if there is a good reason for the expiration, which I cannot see, shouldn't it wait until the new year.
I thought my cd would continue to run any version released the year I bought it.

I'm not trying to be difficult, but this is totally unexpected and has messed me up pretty good.

Bendy,
The Alphas and Betas have always expired.
Hash Inc posts unlock keys to refresh them though.

They posted one before the holidays.
Did you get that?

Its a file called 'timelock.exe'

This isn't meant to rub you raw any further than you already are but... your $49 websubscription ensures the Betas won't time out any more. It'll also have you firmly and fully into v15 today if you order online! smile.gif

I did the same thing...became dependant on 15 and then was locked out. LUCKILY- your project will open in V14.0c. The 'timelock' thingy did'nt work either.

Oh. Duh.

And I do know about the web subscription, and will probably go that way. But there is a disincentive to order it early since it expires one year from order date. I was waiting at least until Jan.

Sweet. Thanks for the info.

I was going to wait as well. As I've always updated in January myself the new paradigm was a bit hard to adjust to.
But looking back I'm glad I made the move early. All that stuff is behind me and I'm prepped and ready for 2008.

In a month or so I plan to websubscribe my laptop. This will give me an overlap when subscriptions begin to expire next year.
When one expires the other will be my backup. Then I'll assess resubscribing each of them as I have the need.
This (rightly) places the onus back on Hash Inc to make sure I have that need! wink.gif

And... with 2 websubscriptions running I'll have saved $1 plus shipping in the process over the old $99 upgrade!
Yeah, the $1 is laughable but if shipping was $15... thats a few pennies saved toward 2009.

Gotta stay ahead of the game! smile.gif

Hey shipping is a big incentive for us OS. A 3rd copy outright.

Cheers
