Hi,
ok call me ignorant but you state clearly :" The CD version never expires, and you can download updates for one year." Now it happens that I just purchased the CD Boxed version 2 month ago , and I have to find out that you move on to v15 . Great , but there is no update for download available. You can only update to version 14c. As far as I see in the forum I have to buy a new CD for $299 or the websubscription for $49. Honestly this is not correct if you state that with the CD you are eligible for a 1 Year update .
I enjoy using the software , but I am quite unhappy about the fact that I have to spend $299 again to get an upgrade to the new CD. What happens if you decide to upgrade to V16 in less than 6 month do I have to go and buy it again?
Kind Regards
Chris

Hi Chris,
This is something you should be taking up directly with the staff @hash.com rather than the public community forum! There's not much we can do for you...

Unfortunately there has to be a cutoff. You are still eligable to (keep) all the updates to v14 through out the year. This new subscription method is to eliminate complaints such as yours.....now you'll get update for a year no matter when it is. It's very rare that a new version is released within a year.

the cd you purchased is not part of this new upgrade system.
You purchased v14 at the end of the year. now you have the most stable version
of v14 that was produced this year and it's yours forever.
There is nothing special about upgrades, in particular, unless you are encountering a
bug in the software and it gets fixed in the next version.
v14 pretty much has all the bells and whistles working as far as I can tell....

Talk to Hash and see if they can help you out.
If not there is another way you could look at this. If the "new" web subscription and CD purchase plan hadn't happened you would still be stuck having to purchase an update in the new year for $99 since the year was not based on date of purchase. NOW you can get that same update for only $49. Half the price! This won't replace your CD but it is still half the price of what it use to be and you still have that CD you already bought. I'm actually jealous since my last CD is much older. I will be going for the $49 update.
Sometimes changes like this for people "on the edge" of the change can be frustrating. It's the nature of the beast. I've been caught at the edge of upgrade discount dates with lots of software before. Very annoying.
