There is a bit of a swishing sound as the hand is coming down, which is what you may be hearing. I will check that out and if it is too confusing, I will remove it.

The best effect is one that you don't notice. This goes for both visual and sound effects. I watched (or maybe I should say listened to) Shrek on my PC with headphones. It is amazing all of the subtle sounds that are going on that you don't even clue into unless listening for them. However, if they weren't there, you would be saying that something wasn't right or was missing.
