I have a problem with the shadow-buffer. From time to time I use it and I forget each time how to set it up.
I tried it with the default-light-setup and 2 models + ground.

I'd like to get only the shadow in a TGA-sequence. I activated Alpha-Buffer and the Shadow-Buffer in the rendering-settings.
I am rendering in a resolution of 996 x 716 px (for a website) using no multipass with hair, shadows on and nothing else.

I rendered it. The image was totally black (which I expected) with an Alpha-Channel which is totally white (which I didnt expect).
I went back to the programm and looked if there is a shadow and there was one in the scene on the same frame...

I had that problem before and got the feature to work, but I cant remember how.
Do you have any suggestions?

Should you be rendering to .exr?

I dont think so... I rendered it before and I never used EXRs... tgas are just fine. The tga which is created should give me a black-images with an alpha-channel of the shadow.
I just cant get it to work again...
