Looking very nice but there are still several issues in there.

Issues:

1) Woot appears to be suspended from strings as he hops from boulder to boulder along the stream. Needs more weight when landing.

2) Scarecrow's right foot goes through the root that he is stepping over.

3) Scarecrow's left hand intersects the root as he sits down.

4) Scarecrow's hat intersects Tinman from around 00:58:00 to 01:02:00

There seems to be a lighting glitch when SC is sitting on the ground, I'll have to look at that. Also, the female SC has dynamic hair that wasn't simulated and her dress goes through her legs.
mtpeak2
Hmm...I didn't see any lighting issue. The more I look at it, the hair leaves on the trees appears to change brightness mid scene. There's also scenes that hair was not turned on.

Looking good. I'm really not sure about the dof.....makes everything seem small. And it looks abit strange too. Also, the whole soundtrack seems to be a few frames ahead of the action.

This is so cool to see things coming together.

Overall it looks great, but some of the edits seem to be a bit rough.

What I mean is when Scarecrow is singing along with a pumpkin man, a female character and a male character (not sure of their proper names). They get to the end of the song with their arms up in the air and are singing the word "again", things look great. Then, there is a rough cut and all their arms are down and the camera has shifted very slightly in it's position. It looks like a few frames are missing or something like that. I noticed this type of thing in a couple of other places as well.

Keep up the great work folks...
Al

<Edit>
I've watched the video a couple of more times, and I am thoroughly impressed with the look of the whole thing. The modelling is excellent, textures are great, backgrounds and lighting are really impressive. This is really going to kick some butt!!! I am hoping there will be some more clips posted soon.

p.s. I did notice that the Tin Man's voice was now quite as loud as Woot's and Scarecrow's voice, which made it a bit harder to hear than the other two. I am watching this on my laptop, so not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

Looks like a good progress report. Obviously some clean up is in order.
NancyGormezano
looks very nice - minor tweaks and we're there!

EDIT: What I forgot to say was how very nice it was to see it all together - It's an interesting sequence that flows very nicely. Love the camera angles & the water, of course looks great, very impressive. Nice setting, mood, nice ambient sounds. Love the dancing scarecrows bit.
mtpeak2
Al, I wish I was that impressed with my lighting, it's lacking IMO.

How interesting, that's the first glimpse I've gotten of that sequence. It is still a strange experience hearing my voice come out of an animated character.

Here are some brief thoughts...

-the business with the shoe near the beginning seems unfulfilled.
-the part at 1:00 where SC looks like he's trying to rub his nose on TWM's belt is very odd posing.
-there are quite a few "screen direction" (camera placement errors) and jump cut errors
-I hope Chris Cauette can bridge that the silent gap that's been inserted around 1:44
-we've gone to the "W Pose" well too many times wink.gif
-I wish I had written a better song!

I think it's great. Think of where we were when we started. Having something to show on YouTube from TWO is a minor miracle.
KenH
Yep, it needs polishing, but my niece and nephew seemed to like it.....multiple plays. They're aged 2 and 3. I'd say our market is between 3 and 10 years of age.
mtpeak2
I showed my wife and she didn't like the DOF.
Paul Forwood
Yes, I agree, if that is the way it will look in the final render.

Hey now! That song is pretty much Mr. Baum's endorsement on the movie. wink.gif

I've forgotten who all worked on this scene. I know Yves did and Mark S. added his water effects.
This sequence really has a lot going for it. A lot of animated action, camera moves, character dialogue, singing, effects... the list goes on and on. I agree there may be some tweaking left but I've got to say... Great job!

I think I can see an assignment piece for the TWO U animators that study and refine this scene.
Namely, it'd be nice to see Scarecrow and friends wave goodbye to each other. Their immediate entry and exit into the sequence just doesn't let us see the three new secondary characters enough.

Rock on!
Dale_The_Bold
The song is great, the animation issues are few, and the look is just so cool. I just love that Scarecrow's voice. He could release audio books and I would just sit back and giggle listening to them.

It's called the Synergy Miracle. It truly is amazing. Got me to thinking, just like Rodney wondered:

(Here's what I can remember - please correct me and add credits)

Frank L. Baum did the original story, with lyrics.
Robert Holmen wrote the music, sang the song
Yves Poissant did the storyboard, designed the 3 Scarecrow models
Fabrice Fave designed, modeled, textured the set
Jeff Bolle modeled & textured Fat, and Lady Scarecrow
Paul Forwood modeled & textured the Skinny Scarecrow
Yves Poissant, Ken Heslip, Nancy Gormezano animated the song
Mark Skodacek did lighting and water effects
Angelo Panetta did the Foley
Teresa Nord. voice of Woot
Robert Holmen, voice of Scarecrow
Rhett Jackson, voice of TinWoodman
Jim Talbot, Will Sutton designed main characters
Stian Wahlvaag, Rich Hutchison, David Walker modeled main characters
Nancy Gormezano textured main characters
David Simmons, Mark Skodacek rigged all the characters
David Simmons, Steven Cleary, Mark Strobehn designed the rig used

and MOST importantly: The opportunity was provided by Hash Inc - started the project, wrote the script, managed the project, provided the resources, did ANIMATION MASTER software, editing, rendering, clean up, posting to YouTube and putting up with all us Prima Donnas & Donnos.

Whew! Yes. Truly amazing.
