I did a test render using the (green) render button and got this...

Did a mov test render in shaded mode an got this.....

Which is right?

Any bound/progressive render does it in final mode. Even if you have shaded set in the render options. So, they're both right.

What I'm refering to is the wall in front of them and the shape of the doorway behind them. will that show up in the final render? I can't even find it in the actual model...where did it come from?

Oh I missed that. It's just that the castle is set to "poly mode" so it's not creating curves. It's right in the final render. Don't worry about it.
