If you have a decent internet connect and would like to help us render on the TWO movie project

Still in the testing stages, but you can d/l and play with the new WebRender client.

You don't need to have a current or installed TWO Svn data tree. The client will d/l the the required source files, render pending frames and then upload finished frames back to our servers for use in the movie.

What's planned for this feature after TWO is finished? Will there be an AM 15 community internet renderfarm? It sounds intriguing.
It requested a dll from AM 15, which I'm installing now, why not allow this to run on any machine?
Next problem was "connected to the server" but shows "status: unable to open project".
So I right clicked on the Render Messenger icon and selected the "Enable TWO rendering"option, which was initially off.
Quit out of renderslave and render messenger restarted it.
It's now loading the project.
it's a 3gb Pentium with 1 gb ram, 6gb free HD space

What's a "decent internet connection"? I have a 2 mb line. Would that do?

I got error message mfc71.dll could not open,....redownloaded and it appears to have installed...installed now running
KenH
I got that the first time. I thought it was my crappy computer. I restarted it and re-installed without that error.
Fuchur
I think you can ignore that.
I had that too and I was able to start and render anyway.
I have v15 installed and it should have found the *.dll-file anyway.

I didn't get that error message - and I don't have 15 installed

and it is up and rendering.

Unfortunately a windows update occurred in the night, which suspended rendering - but I unsuspended this morning and now we are rendering again (skipped frames)

I wish I was rendering. I am running the client, but no rendering love. ;-(

Oh well, soon I hope.

It needs some time to download the needed files. There is a known issue which describes a problem that the downloadprogress isnt shown... you will only see that the filenames will change after a while.

I am quite pleased... I looked at the renderes images and they look well. Hair, Bumps, Characters, Textures... everything is there where it should be.

Good work!

Fuchur,

Yeah, but in my case, I have downloaded a total of 3 complete projects but the renderslave isn't kicking off any renders. Will knows about it and is working on some additional logging to try and track the problem.

I'm getting that too now. The yellow icon is in my taskbar, but the render window isn't open. Maybe the render server isn't online now.

Ok asking for some help here.

I have installed webrender and it opens without errors now. I had a problem getting the V15webrenderstuff.exe file but that is now fixed thanks to Will. When I first opened this application my firewall asked if I wanted to allow this software to open and access internet and I selected allow and never ask agian. This is what I done with everything else and I have double checked that webrender is allowed. I have never really dived into the inner works of firewall software I have looked at everying I can find in it and tried some stuff but the icon just says it;s trying to connect to render server.

Will says it needs port 1750 but the only thing I canb find says in firewall software is port 1780? see picture

Any thoughts / ideas?
