Does anyone have a walking action for the wonderful tiger that is on the ExtraCD they would care to share? I am teaching AM to seniors in high school. I am not finding time to create a walking action on my own and my students would love to use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might have an ambitious student try it.

basic quadruped process:

-animate the front legs
-then animate the back legs so that the rear foot is always stepping into the spot the front foot just lifted out of.

I believe edweard Muybridge photographed a tiger walking. some research onthe web might turn up that series of frames to use as a reference.

well, I've never done a quadruped, I thought I'd see if that strategy actually works. tongue.gif

It seems with the rig the tiger has you have to do the back legs first.

It's very basic and still clunky looking, I'm not sure how to use all the front leg controls properly, but it is a walk cycle.

Even the tiger thinks it's funny, look at his mouth.

This looks GREAT. I have downloaded the zip file and added the action to my actions folder. When I try to make the shortcut in my actions library tab it gives me an error of INVALID ACTION FILE. I am using version 11.1. Does that make a difference? I know enough about this program to be dangerous. I would LOVE to get this action to work. My students would forever be in your debt.

thanks

V11.1 is ancient history I'm afraid. This was done in V13 and those files wont' go back to anything before that due to a file format change.

I recommend contacting Hash to get your A:M up to date. They have discounts for schools.

V13 is way more stable than V11 and has many bug fixes incorporated also. Less frustration all the way around.

I have V12 at school and was hoping it would work there. No luck. Thank you so much for trying to help me out with this.

only $99 to upgrade to v13.

I still think you should try plan A: get a student to do it!

In the absence of an actual tiger, here's an orthogonal 3-view you could use for reference.
