Full Version: Multi Bias Change?

Maybe this is a basic problem, but I've never seen a solution to it on the forums. I want to change multiple biases at the same time.....ie I only need to input the values once for multiple biases. In the image I've selected two cps running along the green arrows. However, if I were to change the Inmagnitude and Outmagnitude values from 100% to say 10% then it would also change the magnitudes of the red arrows spline. Which I want to remain at 100%.

So, I end up having to change each spline bias individually......not good on my fingers.

I'd appreciate any help on this. Thanks.

Emilio started to create a programm which could manipulate multiple biases in a very nice way... But I dont know what happend to the plugin...

PS: See this page.
The Plugin is called "Bottleneck".

Hi Ken,

I tried a few ideas like hitting 'H' to Hide the selection, or Locking the selection, but neither got the desired result. It seems to work fine if you work on a continuous spline though. For example, see what happens if you select one of the splines indicated by the red arrow in your diagram (click one spline to start, not the CP), then hit the comma key to select the whole continuous spline and all its CPs, then change the bias on that Group. For me it worked, it only changed the bias of that selected spline and nothing intersecting it.

If you have to select multiple non-continous splines though, I can't think of a way other than doing them individually.

This is what I do sometimes. I change ALL the biases as described in the first post then I select the continuous spline and change those back. It is still a pain. It is a feature request I've wanted for ages... being able to select which bias to change on multiple selected points like this.

It also depends on HOW you select points as Jim mentioned.

Holmes reminded me about setbias which is included in AM now.....select your splines>right click>setbias and it solves my problems. Thanks guys. (Now if we could only get the multiple cps to make a flat patch sorted out....wink.gif)

hey Ken,

Very odd but I didn't have setbias.hxt in any of my A:M hxt folders, 12, 13, 14 or 15. I did find it back in 11.1 though and I also found it here:

after dropping it into the hxt folder, and trying it, I can see how it addresses this situation. Very handy!

It wasn't in my install either. Emilio was developing Setbias further with a plugin called Bottleneck. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like it'll be released anytime soon, he seems busy on other projects smile.gif
