Is there a way to export displacement data to polygons directly from A:M?

There used to be, but it has been a few years since I tried it. Last time I did it, I exported the model with displacement to a PLY file, then imported the PLY file back into AM and exported as OBJ.

That was when A:M used displacement in combination with the patch-resolution (which is in most cases not as good as SubPixelDisplacement).
Today I doubt that that it possible...

I can see some uses with using both. You could export it, and use a difference operator to take the difference in the low resolution patch displacement and the original displacement map to produce the new displacement map. That way, when you get close to certain areas, they don't completely disappear on you because parts of the patch aren't visible in the frame when using pixel displacement.
