Why do people keep voting for Stian?

all he does is take a picture biggrin.gif

good job everyone, all of the entries looked great

Yves: So are the lego nubs all displacement maps or did you actually model them all?

Oh and well done to all those who entered!
ypoissant
They are all modeled. The whole lego blocs are modeled including the insides. But the back wall bricks are just beveled blocs and the inside wall is just a flat plane with bump materials.

Stian, your scene is fantastic. I'm examining it and I can't believe all the details you put in that scene and the attention to material properties, texturing, lighting and reflections. Stunning. I'm glad you won the first prize.

And congratulation to all the participants and the winners.

Congratulatons Stian,
That really is a superb image, I have to agree with Yves about the amazing amount of detail you've put into every aspect of the picture. blink.gif
Yves, you're a crazy man too....modelling the inside of the blocks smile.gif . What I really like is the story implied behind the image. The pathos in the little lego model, implied with just the subtle tilt of the head and downcast painted lashes. and the realistic roses creating that little bit of ambiguity.
Erik..great simple model and beatiful textures, it would be good to see this model in a more complete setting..
And you can always pick a Darklimit pic....nice characters Robert smile.gif

I hope the relatively small turnout for this contest was just a fluke, it's much more fun when there is a large sample of talent being displayed and much harder to vote. Congradulations to Stian and all who entered! Thank you John. Maybe I'll do something with it in the future.
