I had thought about the geographic locations of our A:M community members before, but Rusty made me want to know where A:M members were in relation to each other. I went to the member listing and went from the highest posters and worked my way down and so far I'm at 75 members listed across the world from North America, to Europe, and Australia. I used Google Earth to map the locations, and I can even share them so you can zoom in and see densely populated areas like Vancouver, WA.

I couldn't add some members because they had no location description. Members who gave Cities had their markers centered from 100,000 m; members who gave states or countries were centered from 1,000,000 m. The points are named after the member's user name, and members who provided their full name have them added to their description.



You can download these locations below. Drop them into the appropriate Google Earth folder.

Where should I add my name and location?

There's a Frappr map, too: Hash Frappr

I'm using the locations right out of the member's profile. People move around and forget to update their profile, so there are bound to be mistakes when I upload them.

I tried that Frappr map, but it never loaded.

Just noticed that my location wasn't listed in my profile. It's there now!
