You've dont the giraffe tutorial, right? Substitute a good cat rotoscope and that would be a starting point. They're both quarupeds so there will be many similarities in the splining.

It is not an average cat but a siamasic one, but there are some images that could help on this page:

There are a few options but some of them require you to invest some money.
I don't know if you can draw but your best bet is to get some cat pictures to use as references and sketch out a front, side picture yourself.
If you can't draw, then ask a person who does know how to draw to make a rotoscope. Depending on who you ask though, it may cost you.
Look around for a good cat sculpture. stand far back and zoom in and take a front and side view to use as a rotoscope (you zoom in to limit perspective).
Go to a friends house who owns a cat or find a cat and do the same as above. You'll have better results with a lazy cat.
I hope this helps,
George

A very late reply.... I saw this thread and thought of B. Kliban's "How to draw a cat". Draw three circles with the bottom being the biggest, middle next, and top the smallest. Turn it around and there is your cat.
Wish I could find it on the net... It is brilliant.
