Hi all,

I read a post a while back that the original Hash characters (knight, rabbit, keekat, etc) maybe redone using the new squetch rig. I was wondering if this was done or if it is going to be done?

Thanks,
George

I missed that post, George...I'm not aware of that being worked on at the moment. Presently, the only public character that is kept up to date with every release of the Squetch Rig is Squetchy Sam...he's the "test bed" for the rig. I'm in the middle of a pretty big update right now, with another one to follow soon after (if I'm lucky, I might be able to roll both into one huge update). Things should level off for a while once those are done and then a few more public characters might get done by someone.

I wouldn't wait unless there's something you need that is in one of the next updates, Dhar. The update I'm in the middle of is to make the installation of the face rig easier. In that update, there is also a better setup for the cheeks. Once that gets completely ironed out (it's done, I just have to finish adding it to the installation rigs), I have a couple of improvements for the FACE controls that should make the eye aiming more accurate. These improvements won't change how the rig is used when animating except for maybe another bell or whistle (I've added manual control of ear movement in addition to the automatic stuff, Mark has worked on adding dynamic jiggle).

The second update that I mentioned is an improvement on the spine...that one may change how the spine is manipulated. I only have a rough outline of what I want to do with that right now.

Once I get the spine update finished, I'm installing the rig into a character I'm building for a personal project. It will also serve as a test to see if I missed anything. I'm hoping to get the rig stuff done quickly, but that doesn't mean it will happen quickly. I think I can get all of it except the spine update done in the next several days, so I'm thinking I might do a release to get everything else off of my plate. If I can get the spine done quickly as well, I'll try to get it into that release...we'll see what ends up happening.
