Can anyone 'splain this?

I don't know that it's the rig that causes this but I have no idea what does. It looks somewhat like gymbal lock (not that I have much experience with that) but the IK hand null is set to Quaternion so that shouldn't be it.

the chor is 2_02_22_v03weirdhandturn.cho if you want to try it at 06:05

other bones I'm posing on this characer haven't done this yet. I do seem to have the current version of Tinwoodman.

It's because of the "orient like" neck geom constraint on the left hand IK controller. There is also a translate to constraint to the neck geom, why these constraints are even there is beyond me.

Thanks. Those were remnants from a previous chor and I forgot I had used those.

But I'd think i'd still be able to rotate the hand smoothly if I wanted to adjust the offsets of such a constraint. I'm pretty sure I've constrained a bone to things inthe past and been able to keyframe changes later. Maybe because its so far away from its original location.

Were the constraints originally applied to a proxy model? I've seen problems with swapping models with constraints applied.
