I was surfing the web on my lunch and stopped in at 3D Cafe. I was kind of surprised to see A:M listed in the 3D Software for sale section. As I read on, I realized that the page had not been updated in quite a while as it was referring to A:M 6 and features new for 1998 were denoted by '++'.

Anyway, one of the features it talked about was A:M's powerful sculpting.

Can someone elaborate on this? Would it be talking about the distortion tool, just moving CPs around or is there something else that I have missed (which wouldn't be too surprising these days).

Thanks...

All of that. I think the statement is more an overall evaluation than a specific feature.

Version 6?

Wasn't that the version that came on stacks of punched cards, used a command line interface and output final renders in ASCII text?

I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

It came on clay tablets and used roman numerals.

I think I was in high school then...

I believe that version came before a common era. Images were kept through word of mouth, and each pixel's RGB value was memorized and chanted during a fire.

Reminds me of an article I read years ago. In it they theorized that Leonardo Da vinci would have understood and have been capable of building a mechanical television and could have transmitted black and white images over long distances... using couriers I think. It wouldn't have been practical but it would have worked.
