Hi everyone.

I might get in trouble with this shot because I took liberties that made sense to me. I'll understand if I have to scrap my idea. It was fun and I learned a few things creating the actions and getting them to work (bear in mind the animations are not working perfectly on the path. If Martin gives me the OK, I'll clean it up tonight).

Here's the scene, Strawbear was just changed back to Scarecrow and has just called out to be stuffed. The description in the dot says GMW (Green Monkey Woot) stuffs scarecrow then Tin Owl and Tin girl join in. After looking the shot over, it didn't make sense to me. Where was GMW getting the grass to stuff Stawbear? I guess it could be on the path but I thought....why not have Woot go get some grass and bring it to scarecrow? So this shot shows that.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to do the last action of GMW placing the grass and actually bending down and stuffing scarecrow. I'll do that tonight.

Also, the audio is in the wrong place. GMW's line "Umm...OK. Over here? would be said right after GMW bends down to stuff scarecrow. Then Scarecrow says,"More! Hurry!".

I'm posting the rough draft because I promised Martin I'd have this done by last Sunday. Unfortunately I couldn't get it done but it's almost done now.

Here it is. Again, bear in mind the path animation is not working perfectly and I didn't create the stuffing animation yet.

The pulling grass or straw action looks good but shouldn't GMW run straight back to SC and start stuffing him instead of standing there scratching his head? He is hurrying right?

Yep. I just threw the idle animation in there to test the blending of animations. I wasn't going to post this but I wanted to show Martin that I wasn't blowing off my assignment and that I've been working on it. After seeing the render I plan on adjusting the path to have GMW make a more direct route.

The shot is laid out like this:

GMW runs to Scarecrow and looks around for some grass. He runs to the field and collects some grass. He drops it next to Scarecrow, kneels on one knee and says to him," Umm....OK, Here? (pointing to his chest. Scarecrow nods and GMW begins stuffing Scarecrow. Scarecrow turns to Tin owl and Tin girl and says,"More! Hurry!. They take off to the field as the camera pans back to GMW continuing to stuff Scarecrow.

Make it easy on yourself, George, you really don't have to show GMW collecting the grass unless something is going to happen there or it is a lead to the next scene. In this case, I would simply have him exit the stage and then enter with grass in hands. smile.gif

Hi Dhar,

I've already made it very hard hehe. I felt that to make sense of the scene, We should see Woot go collect the grass and put it on the ground. I had a hard time with a few areas animation and technical wise so I haven't finish this yet. Martin pulled me off it so I would finish Robert's sequence which I'm currently working on. I hope to jump back on the shot to finish it. Tin owl's and tin girl's actions still need to be defined.

Now that I've taken Robert's assignment as far as I can till I get either suggestions from Robert or the start frame from the next shot, I'm at a stand still. Until I get some instructions, I'm going to try to finish this shot.

I gave more thought to Dhar's point about actually seeing GMW collect the grass. I'm thinking if I break that up into cuts going back and forth from GMW collecting the grass, cut to showing Scarecrow's impatience, cut back to GMW picking up the grass. This breaks it up, possibly shortens the shot and makes it more interesting I think.
