Who's up to put this together? It will be the lead-in picture for Part IV of the "TWO Production Diary." (The one with the pictures of the animators in it.)
spacecomics
I could do this if it's just a matter of posing all the models in front of an appropriate background.
martin
Go.
goodguy20k
I think I'll give it a shot too. If you don't hear from me in a week, send the army. wink.gif (Just for interest! I feel like working on something right now.)
NancyGormezano
ok good - now that the ice has been broken - I'd like to give it a try too

Caveat EDIT: if I can get to it in a timely manner
martin
The more the better chance we get an "awesome" one, (or 3 "awesome" ones).
robcat2075
It might be funny to pose them in a "cast photo" situation where they are not in the land of Oz but on the set of the movie.

Exactly what I was working on, now if I can find a "director's chair" and maybe a picture of Hash, Inc. for the background, and if there's time (I'm pretty slow), it would be neat to have Woot holding a green monkey mask....

Martin:

When do you need this image of all the characters ?

how big in print inches will it be?

what resolution do you need it ?(eg 200dpi?)
martin
Anything will do. You've got to know that dots-per-inch have absolutely nothing to do with resolution - if a picture looks good when it's 5 inches wide then that's all you have to worry about.
NancyGormezano
ok thanks - not sure I agree that dpi has nothing to do with print quality/render resolution.

Will assume max 5 inches wide x ?? inches high, and assume need 200 dpi (so min resolution will be 1000 x ??)

but by When do you need it?

(not sure if I'll have the time - but others might want to know)
spacecomics
This is just a sample of the sort of picture I want to do, if I have time to work in all the characters and do it well:

I couldn't find a model of a director's chair so for this I just pasted on a picture.

I'm not in a huge hurry but the rest of the article is ready.

I am pretty sure there is a directors chair in the library or extra cd/dvd

Heres the composition I'm sorta thinking about - took 7 minutes to load the chor (and I was using old models) - took another 5 minutes to show the textures, took 7 minutes to render - tried to turn on hair and all went kaplooey. I think I will have to render groups of models separately, then composite them in photoshop
martin
Looks great!

I know we've got "The Tin Woodman of Oz" on our movie poster but it's really "Tin Woodman of Oz." (No "The". We've since changed the poster.) The letters for the logo are in the 1_01_01 folder, and in the "Posters" folder on SVN (along with the material). But anyway, seeing as how this is for the article, you might change it to "The Workers of Oz" or just "Oz" or something clever.

King Bal is the same size as the other Loons (only Big Loon is "bigger than the rest").

Give Monkey Yoop the boot (or make her 10X smaller)

Make Woot's Mom much smaller.

You don't need to use all of the characters (but it's cool if you do).
jakerupert
Very cool Nancy!!!

How about:

"Actors of Oz"

or "Charas of Oz " (from Characters)

>King Bal is the same size as the other Loons (only Big Loon is "bigger than the rest").

<I would say, since this is not a charactersheet, the sizes and proportions of the actors should be free to the artistic intentions
of the composition of this poster...

Had to finally split it up into 3 chors and reassemble in photoshop.

Spent 9 bazillion hours (ok - more like all day) trying to figure out where it was choking - and I mean BIG time choking - Besides splitting the chors - I had to decrease density of hair drastically in Nimmie, Chop, Nick, KuKlip, Ozma, Monkey boy - got rid of all prerolls (rabbit had 350 frames of preroll????), deleted hair from rabbit, & geese. Major render hits now are the materials, and loading in the tga sequence for the loons.

Jake I agree with you - In the first sample I went with scaling the characters to create a pleasing composition. But in the second I'm humoring Martin

My brain is too fried tonight to come up with some clever logo - How about "Les Oziteers"?
Kamikaze
ok , Nancy, you need to be performing in a comedy club, does your humor happen naturally or is there a cheat sheet always at your side? Anyway mine (side) is splitting.... Pardon the interruption.
martin
Thank you, Nancy.

Put it on SVN and we'll take it from here.
NancyGormezano
And perhaps for a more cheery look

(Hey! Kamikaze - this toon stuff is serious bizness)

Martin - where (poster folder?) & what (tga, photoshop files?, chors?) do you want on the Svn ?

I put the final psd & jpg under poster/3dWorld
Dhar
Mrs. Yoop: would mind tilting your head the other way? We can't see the "n" in "Tin"...... pretty please?
NancyGormezano
update to reveal "N" more - I obscured it on purpose

uploaded to svn (final psd & jpg under poster/3dWorld)
martin
Put everything in the TWO\data\poster folder on SVN.

Thank you
