Are the "Maintain_orientation_shoulder" and "maintain_chest_orientation" options in the Squetch rig intended to be switchable in the middle of an animation, like the IK-FK option is switchable? By that I mean switching without having to redo the position of the bones.

Sometimes it seems like they are, but then some other point in the animation has a change introduced.

They should be switchable, but something's up...even in Squetchy Sam. I'll take a look at this tonight, Robert.

Okay, the "maintain_orientation_shoulder" can be made switchable without much trouble, but the "maintain_orientation_chest_controller" would have to lose the variability that the "steady" percentage Poses provide if it is to be made switchable without movement. These changes probably wouldn't be added to any TWO characters since so much animation has already been done, but could be put into the next release of the Squetch Rig. I'll PM you, Robert.

What is meant by "steady"?

I was referring to the "steady_right_shoulder" and "steady_left_shoulder" Poses. Those Poses work with the "right_arm_maintain_orientation_chest_controller" and "left_arm_maintain_orientation_chest_controller", the "steady" Poses don't do anything unless those are set to "on". If those Poses are "on", the "steady" Poses vary the amount the shoulders will maintain their orientation in relation to the chest. Without the "steady" Poses, but with the switchable setup, you would have an "all or nothing" for the percentage that the movement of the chest will affect the orientation of the shoulders. In my mind, that's neither good nor bad, just different...and may be preferred if you want to be able to switch without the shoulders moving.

There may be a way to keep the variability, but that's what a day of thinking got me...I'll keep rolling it around in my head and see if I can do better.

I sent you a couple PM's as well last night, Robert...you may not have read them yet.

Came up with switchable on/off poses and a percentage sliders to vary the orientation on both the bicep and shoulder separately. I sent it to David to take a look.

Thanks for spending time on this, Mark! I'll take a look in a few hours.
