Hey everyone.

Ok, this is just a curious question. I know Martin is looking for principle animation done by MIPCOM... But I'm wondering about what happens afterward? I know lighting, editing, sound, music, etc. But what about the rough spots in animation? Are we going to go back through and fix things up? If so, who is going to do that?

As I watch the renders come out for the sequences, I spot things Id like to have fixed, personally, for shots that weren't mine. (I know, I'm picky! tongue.gif)

Just curious. As the last sequence gets divided up, I see then end of my animation time coming near for TWO... (Guess I could do my own stuff, huh? wink.gif ) Clean up is just an excuse for me to stick around longer. wink.gif So... Any ideas what will happen on that? Has clean up already been going on?

Thanks. smile.gif

I did some clean up in Act 1, not much though....Martin's not as fussy as me. wink.gif Then again, this movie needs to get made. I believe there will be clean up at the end...only he knows who'll be doing it.
Don't worry, I'm sure he'll come up with something to keep you busy if it's not you.

Daniel may be on to a good idea here.

There will be things in the movie that can be fixed easily while other things will have to wait or require decision making.

Perhaps we could compile a list of errors, ommissions and things that stand out for improvement so they could get prioritized and fixed. Keeping an eye out not to break things in the process of course.

A minor example but one that would add much to the scenes is where Ku Klip's workshop is shown from the exterior. In the background the windmill is standing still. Having the windmill turning is a simple thing that would add much to the scene.

Some things such as Woot's backpack straps and belt going crazy are known issues that are probably already being worked.

Hmmm... lets see what else...
When the camera approaches closely to the door of Tin Castle Woot's refection isn't seen.
Is it necessary? Probably but other things might take priority.

When the fully tinn'd Tin Woodman appears chopping wood in front of Ku Klip its 'Emporer TW' that is chopping wood. It should be the original Tin Woodman.

What else do you see Daniel?

You want my list? wink.gif

Some of it's character actions, too. Like some linear interpolation used when it should have eased in and out. (Thrown Room, Woot.)

Woot and the hay cart, there's some height issues.

Characters floating/going through the ground.

Various things like that.

I know Martin's not too picky, but I'm hoping that once principle ends, a few of us can go in and at least hit the obvious. (More then what's being done right now, at least. I know clean has happened a little. smile.gif ) Hey if I don't have scenes to work on, cleanup sounds like a good time filler! wink.gif

I do have a little trouble stating which animation I feel needs work, because many of these were people's first shots, or they worked a while at them. I wonder if it would be like a master artist coming in and painting over a students work. That's why I've been hesitant to ask. I know I for one would not mind someone going and retouching my work. (Actually, I originally thought that was the idea. I figured I did pass 1, roughing, and some "master" would polish it up in pass 2.)

Anyway... I don't mean to pick on any one's animation! I just... Wish we could push some of the weaker points into something a little better. ::Shrug::

I see that the old Tin Woodman has replaced the Emperor Tin Woodman in the woodchopping scene with Ku Klip. Looks great! smile.gif

Ye ol' continuity police says:
Don't forget to 'disappear' Nick Chopper's second (meat) leg as he is wheeled to Ku Klip's Workshop by Nimmie Amee.
As he just got the second leg chopped off it shouldn't be there.
Perhaps its better to add the leg as a prop but the easiest solution... hide it!
This will effect other scenes with Nick... so look out. Perhaps better to save out another version of Nick?

In other continuity news the following fixes are in:

- Woot's reflection shouldn't be a problem anymore in the Castle approaching scene as it looks like the reflection (refraction?) settings have changed.

- The simulation data will reportedly be baked so the odd movement in Woot's backpack straps, Scarecrow's hat etc. will go away.

- Ku Klip's windmill is rotating! smile.gif (Little touches like that really make my day)
