Hi everyone,

I read some where that we can't use any of the TWO character models for personal projects until after the movie is released.

Does this also include modifying one so it doesn't look exactly as the original model?

Here's my problem:

My brother in law asked me to animate his logo for his production name (Funky Monkey Studios). (Here's his myspace website about FMP) http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...endID=211376829 To do this I needed a monkey model. My organic modeling skills are bad and my rigging skills are even worse.

I looked all over the free models CD for a monkey model and couldn't find one. I didn't want to ask anyone to make a model for me (and I can't pay anyone at this time either) so as a last resort I saw green monkey woot and modified him a bit. I gave him longer arms, shrunk his head, removed the hat and enlarged, rotated and lowered his ears so it wouldn't look exactly like the original model.

I need a rigged model because the animated logo has the monkey jumping in from screen right, landing on the camera lens part which causes the camera to tilt down as he continues to jump over the camera and land on the seat. He then turn to the camera and straightens it out, sits in the chair and fades to the 2D logo.

I've already modeled the old style movie camera and created some basic poses for this in hopes that I can get the approval to use the modified green monkey woot model. I also need to use it for the updated 2D logo.


Here's a pic of the before and after 2D logo ideas. The sillouetted logo is what the end of the animation fades into.

Who ever can grant it, can I PLEASE use this modified version of the green monkey woot for the FMP animated logo?

Martin is the Grand PooBaa. He owns the rights to the TWO movie.

That modified version looks okay to use. Go for it.

I figured that but I wasn't sure if the actual modeler was the one to grant permission or if it was Martin. That's why I worded it the way I did.
