We have added a class project curriculum we call "TWO U". The class outline starts with TaoA:M's "Anyone Can Animate" section, followed by the new animation exercises in TWO U. then followed up with "Modeling Takes Talent." Students learn the basics, followed by real world application and then the mechanics.
These are scenes from Act I of the TWO project that have been striped down so each student in a class can take a scene and reanimated it following the Directors notes. Afterwards the NLE can be rerendered and the new movie files will replace the previous work and the students can see their scene in the film and how it works into the process of moviemaking.
Included in the repository is the "TWO U Director Notes.doc." It has setup instructions, the script and an assignment page for each scene, finished and RAW projects of each scene and a library file for easy access.
Also, I have a version of the dictionary.dic file where I have reduced the phonemes in a lot of the words, with thousands to go. (This is just a start.)
Download the TWO U repository print the course Director's notes, and handout an assignment page to each student. They will have to work on their own animation but at the same time make sure that the scenes play well together. This will give the students a feeling of completion as they learn the art of storytelling.
Go to http://project.hash.com:8008/movie/svn/TWO-U to get the course materials.
If you have any comments about the TWO U (Tin Woodman of OZ University) please pass them on.
