I'm having a problem finishing this tutorial and would like to know is there any interest in this topic. All of the info here is usful, my problem lies in the production of screen shots and such...getting everything organised into something visual. I got 98% of the words on paper. I don't like writing step by step stuff because I just assume anyone using cloth must have a feel for AM already. And it's hard to pull apart exactly what I do when I keypunch and mouse click. That's what takes me so long... so I like to just tell you to "select this" and "right click on that". Would anyone be interested in helping me out here. I will post the tut here for you to look at it as is:

I also have tried to apply some of these techniques to a model, but the models I usualy use are more complex than thom or shaggy so someone might get lost in the translation from a cartoonlike character. The characters I use are more realistic and the results really are different and things don't work the same with lower patch count characters, so I am having REAL problems with this and it is getting out of hand.

The file is about 12 MB and contains projects/ materials/ quicktime files.

I also have a list of the basic cloth types I tried to simulate there:
Canvas
Cotton
Guaze
Hard rubber
paper
rubber
shoe leather
silk
soft leather
solid cloth
spandex

The project, for the different types of cloth, is of a bunch of different shapes under a grid. The grid is cloth and is dropped from above to fall on the objects and the ground. My cloth settings work in this situation.
I tried to do a quick and dirty test that I could try these out on thom with a shirt on but made some mistakes that cause problems later and I have those projects with evrything embeded, but some of the cloth materials were not meant to be used for clothing... like paper?... doesn't work on shirts or pants, but works well on flat or mostly flat objects that want to try to keep their shape. I will try to work that out later or maybe it should work that way... I need to think about that a little.

If you want the settings you will have to look in the projects. There is a lot of information here and it's hard to organise it all, but with your help and suggestions maybe I can pull all of this together.

Does this require V14 or is it built in V13?

Rob: This was done in v13 and as far as I know can be brought into v14 with no trouble.
