There's a sound effect of the TinWoodsman falling down that I've been meaning to make for one of the shots we're doing in "We're Off, We're Gone". I've got the pots and pans to do it but maybe there's someone here who's skilled at creating such things.

If you're interested, PM me and I'll try to explain what I'm looking for.

thanks!

HI
I'm a sound specialist (and getting into doing my own animation with AM). Been away a while, but now back and looking for something to contribute to TWO. I'm happy to make some SFX for the TWO project; would prefer a scene of some complexity, to show my chops, as sound is nearly always the weakest part of even great animation.

cheers

Paschall

Hey Paschall,

If you want to give this a whack , take a look at the shot in this post...

http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?s=&am...st&p=255683

that isn't the final timing of the shot but that's what it looks like right now.

and here's an explanation of what we're looking for...

I'd been experimenting for the rolling hubcap sound and was going in the direction of dragging a metal table knife handle around the inside of a metal pot lid to get the continuous motion sound. But I never got around to putting it all together. You may have a better idea.

Hi Rob:

Saw this post and thought I would give it a quick try tonight. I am not trying to cut into what Paschall is doing. This was more to see if it doing sound f/x was a way for me to help out in the TWO movie. If you think that this is any good and there is a different project I could work on, please let me know.

Thanks...
Al

First, I should point out that I'm not "in charge" of sound effects for TWO but this is one very specific thing I needed to be involved with make this particular shot work. See Martin for info on sound effects needs for other shots.

So, Tralfaz... that's not far off. The rolling hubcap sound is great! The initial crash is not bad either but needs to develop a bit more.

Here would be an interesting exercise for a sound effects person... how long could you make that crash go on and keep it interesting?

There used to be a radio show called "Fibber McGee and Molly" that had a running gag about a closet they had in their house. Whenever they had to open that closet an enormous avalanche of junk would come crashing out and you might even hear different things as they came out. It seemed to go on forever.

That's kind of what I'm going for here. The crash is almost a gag in itself.

Sorry about that Robert. I thought you did the sound effects (or was looking after it).

I sent an e-mail to Martin with a link to this thread and movie.

Thanks...
Al

Okay. Like I mentioned earlier though, I don't want to cut into anything that Paschall is doing for you. If Paschall would prefer to work on this, that is okay with me. I will keep playing around with the sound effects in case he doesn't respond back here.

Thanks...

Thanks for the kind words.

Here is another stab at it, which I hope is more like what Robert is describing.

The audio in this clip is in stereo this time.

I'll give you a stab at foley for this sequence, Al, (and when Robert's done with his version you can make it even better). I need to get a couple more assignments back then I'll send you a link to the Edit.
