Here's a test render of sc 03.
agep
This is really a beautiful render! However, I think the shadows (especially those on Woots back) is a little too dark
Paul Forwood
I love that ivy! smile.gif
Maybe a light to simulate the reflected light that should be bouncing off the wall would help.
Looks great though.
martin
Beautiful!

What do you think of Woot's toned down hair color? (I noticed Kevin did that on the sly.)

The brown hair looks much better that the red/orange hair for sure
Xtaz
Beautiful ....
In this image the difference of the characters' style is notable. Woot using "real" hair and his mother with modeled hair.

Hey! Steve asked me to do that ... rolleyes.gif Very nice lighting Mark, but I agree you probably need some bounce lights especially on Woot.
martin
So far, Mark's been the "Composition" guy. I usually then move the scene along the assembly line to a "Lighting" guy who persumably adds "bounce" lights and Light Lists.

That's a good point, why doesn't she have particle hair?

Toning down Woots hair ? Nope. Boring.

Underhanded, sneaky, disappointing? Yup. Big Time.

I do not appreciate doing work for free to have it changed behind my back.

I resent being treated disrespectfully.

Nancy,
I certainly didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. I was asked to look at why Woo'ts hair was going totally orange in certain situations, all I did was desaturate the color of the primary highlight in the muhHair shader thinking that might help. I'm sure we can go back to the old hair, I wasn't trying to be sly or underhanded. Sorry.

Yes, that was what I was thinking about to. What might cause that? Did you figure that out?
ssappington
Actually, Kevin's changes have already been reverted- Martin and I had decided we liked the look of the old (Nancy) hair better... It seems like the change was much more dramatic than what should have resulted from Kevin's minor change-

muhHair does seem rather sensitive to small changes ... it's likely when I ported it I screwed up or misinterpreted something. That or it might just need a bit of rework to be more usable. I sometimes find that values that look good in one lighting setup look terrible in a different situation. I've been meaning to look into, just haven't had the motivation to code at home (I do more than enough at work).

Kevin

Thanks for the apology.

I am sensitized to this issue by prior events. Events that did not involve you.

My other post wasn't aimed specifically at you.

Previously, subjective changes have been made to my "free art and animation works" without my consent or knowledge.

I personally resent that. Regardless of whether anyone else likes my work or not. Others may feel differently.

It is a different story, after the movie is done, when "kiddies" all over the world (hopefully) get their grimy little paws on it.

T'wasn't aimed at you either. Or any of the others, solely.

And now I must sincerely apologize to Mark for contributing to the hijacking of this thread.
