Here's a tutorial form of the cloth tech talk. It takes a linear, methodical approach. Hopefully you can follow it and get similar results. Included is a pdf tut, a sample project to use when you are following the tut, and a sample movie of the results I got when working through the tutorial.

I was supposed to be doing the cloth section for the new manual, but it looks like you've already done it! Excellent job!

I notice you don't mention using "attached" groups. Do you find that leaving some CPs without the cloth material applied works better than using an attached group as described in TAoAM?

When I experimented with "Attached Groups" I got CPs flying off in all directions whenever I simulated the cloth, so I just left it out.
