I've tried this a long time ago and gave up, but now really need to know if there is an answer. Jim Talbot's excellent tutorial on face decaling is leaving me with a problem. Following it explicitly, I cannot get the paste mirrored keyframe to work. When I try and paste it, nothing happens. I made sure the model is centered in all axis, but still no paste. I did not add any bones to the model, so that can't be it either. The default model bone is centered too.

I had this problem before all I did was reset the settings for A:M to default.

To do this open A:M click on:

Help > Reset Settings

That worked for me. Tell me if you have anymore problems.

Hope it works.

I have not had problems but have not tried paste mirrored recently. If you have a large number of customized setting, then this can present a huge problem with doing "reset to default". An alternate way, I think, would be to start AM while holding down the shift key (or it may be the control key... not sure). I believe this opens AM with all the default settings without erasing them (i.e. next time you open AM normally all your custom settings will be there).

Can someone confirm the above information?

Cheers,
Rusty

Thank you for the tips from both! I actually reset before I tried the shift option, but that's ok for now. That mostly did the trick, but some splines still did not move properly with the paste mirrored. Most did though, so I'm sure it has something to do with the tolerance modes which I had set to zero. It moved enough of the cps' so that I could finish what I was doing.

Thanks again

Eric

However, this is a bug of some kind and should be reported. Eric, do you know what you may have changed from the default setup? If so, please take the time to try and reproduce the problem by resetting what had been set differently from the default and in any event, please report this problem to AM Reports!

Thanks!
Rusty
