So, there I am just modeling away for fun and tried something new... go figure... it works! biggrin.gif

I made an 8 point circle and decided to try and close it a bit differently to make a slight dome... here is the result.

The hooks (circled blue) make valid 4 point patches and avoid 3 point patches here. Seems to be a slight artifact on one of the hook patches, but it's small and I will be texturing this area anyway.

Whatever works right? biggrin.gif

Looking back... it's not really different... just looks that way. There are 5 points in that area and using a hook there is just like using a hook on a flat square with one extra point on one side.

Sure didn't look like it would work at first... but if you take that shape and make it square with the hook spline ending in the middle of a flat side (see image)... it's just a regular hook. biggrin.gif
