Here's a render test of loonville.
Paul Forwood
That looks really nice, Mark!
Will you be replacing the background with a dense thicket? smile.gif
LeeAnderson
Mark, your shots are looking better and better all the time! You should slow down so the rest of us schmoes can catch up!

Great work!

Lee
mtpeak2
Thanks guys.

Paul, I'll look into it.

Lee, try telling Martin I should slow down. wink.gif
KenH
Whoohoo! I was just worrying about that.....now it's done! Looks great too. Materials or decals?
mtpeak2
Bitmap plus and decals.

Oh, and I'm not done yet. wink.gif
martin
Give that a "yippee" from me too.
mtpeak2
New update.
KenH
Roots! Of course! Maybe some vines hanging down too!?
I can't figure out what time it's supposed to be. In the script it says morning yet the Loons have a fire lit and there are shadows from it in the animatic. Maybe it's very early morning.....like dawn and still twilight. Then the thick tree cover would make it darker too.
mtpeak2
I was planning on vines hanging from the trees and the hill on left.

Martin told me late afternoon/early evening.
mtpeak2
Ken, is there a leaf image for the loon throne (hair material)?
KenH
Yep. The three leafed one is for the throne while the bigger one is for the "flags" in the ground behind it. I think that's all....

mtpeak2
Got it.

The alpha on the 3 leaf image is showing a large halo in v14, but not so much in v13.
mtpeak2
I added the bonfire to 2-03. Here's a test render of one of the scenes.
Dagooos
Just saw your test render of loonville..looks great! has a nice kinda magical feeling to it.
martin
That's what I'm talking about!
mtpeak2
Here's a new render.

The first image of the loons I played with the intensity of the light for the bonfire, because in other scenes it was too much, but that was a mistake. In this render the intensity was reset and adjusted falloff.

If you look at both renders you will notice the pattern on the loons are different in each render, the first one was rendered with multipass and this one is not.

I should mention that the first pass of the multipass render, rendered this pattern, and by the fouth pass it had a different pattern. (v14 beta 5)
KenH
Looks great. I agree it looks better with the light coming from the fire. But it's so dark that we can't see all your work! biggrin.gif Maybe a smidgen lighter?
zandoriastudios
Nice work, mark!
mtpeak2
Thanks guys. I took a day off yesterday from A:M. biggrin.gif I still have 65 scenes to put the bonfire in. wacko.gif
