I been working on texturing and populating the tin castle set, among other TWO related things.
The set uses alot of hair. There is around 50,000 total hairs in this render. There is 30,000 hair trees and 147 modeled trees with an average of 1000 hairs per tree. This image render in 32 min and 24 sec in v14 beta 4, multipass 4, shadows on, soft reflections on, 720x405.
Here's what I have so far.

I'm not very knowledgeable about render times but that seems really fast for what you've got put into the scene. Anyone care to comment on that aspect?
Nice render Mark!

Woosers! Much improved. Are the clouds a photo? They blend in well.

Wow!
I think thickening up the trees or some sort of rotoscope 'cheat' in the back mountains and it will look AWSOME! The tree line near the edge of the lake on the right seems a bit sharp.
Great start!

Great work Mark! I love your style! It's really adding a cool feeling to all of these outdoor shots you've been doing. Keep it up!

Thanks guys.
Ken, the clouds are not a photo. This is an image Fabrice created for the winkie village set that I use for all the outdoor sets. (I use alot of Fabrice's textures)
Jody, I'll see about thickening the background trees. I noticed the sharp line of the tree line near the edge of the lake and planned on fixing it. The tree hair material is applied to patches causing the sharp lines, I moved the cps around to minimize it, but I don't think that 's going to cut it. I'll probably use a decal to control the density for the trees around the lake.
Works been killing me the last few days and haven't had much time to work on the set. I'm trying to get this done for hash bash. It's this weekend, right?

Yup... this coming week actually...

The wife and I are arriving on Saturday evening (that's the plan anyways).
