Hi

This is a quick sketch for an idea I have. I did the drawing with a mouse and it's pretty bad but I wanted to get the idea out there. The composition is roughly what I will go for. It will be a mix of 3d cartoony style aliens and buildings and stuff and a realistic atmosphere. I will try to achieve a red hazy effect over the scene. The things coming from the sky are a meteor shower, i will try to make it look like they are in motion with fire coming out of them. And I will try to have a smokey effect coming off the ones on the ground. The colors in this sketch are just filler, they will be more sophisticated in the project. I will have buildings and stuff being destroyed and the characters poses will be more dramatic and show how scared they are. There will be more characters than this. I want to make the buildings looks spacey and slick. I think if I do a little at a time I can make it by august. Well, just wanted to lay my claim to mars.

I was hoping there was going to be a Mars based one.

Here is the beginning of the aliens. I like how the shape is coming. It will be good for expressing anquish.

Now he got ears. Big Ones!

Head is done. He still needs teeth and a tongue. I will give him detail with texture and bump maps.

When i was reading your scenario for your image the description of the meteorites reminded me of an old classic film called 'This island earth' an absolute classic.

I decided to remove that bump on the nose. I liked it from the front but it looked bad from the side. You can see from the side view that his face is a little flat like that guy from wham. Not George Michael, the other guy. But I am ok with that. It works for me. Who says aliens faces arent a little flat?

I built a hand for this guy. It's pretty basic.

I also changed his antannaes.

I am making his body now. I am gonna make his outfit kind of like ace frehley of kiss. I gave him some love handles. I think it makes him look more vulnerable.

Finished the alien. I may do some minor tweaks and some decal details down the road as the scene needs, but this is him for now.
