Here's my blocking pass at this shot.
KenH
Good start. TW's pose at 150 looks off balance. You might look at a video on how that instrument is played.....it doesn't seem right. It's like it needs more movements.....less large ones too.

Good first pass, Holmes!

Be sure to see my notions about the concertina playing, over in the main thread.

Thanks!

I'm about 3/4 through the second pass. The servant has been giving me some trouble.
I'm off, I'm gone starting tomorrow morning and I won't be back till late Monday, so I prolly won't have anything new until Tuesday at the earliest.
Dhar
Nice work, Holmes. You're really nailing the choreography down. Good job man smile.gif

I'm experimenting with him right now, trying to get a bouncy look. Hven't quite found what i want yet.

I'll probably wait for the full 4/4 before I crit it.

Holmes,

This is looking really good.

Thanks Jeetman!

OK, here's the second pass.

That's coming along very nicely, Holmes.

He knocks twice but I hear three knocks in your shot?

Yeah. Robert told me to ignore the last knock. I think he's going to take it out.
robcat2075
Wow, what knockers!

OK I replaced the last part of my Tin Servant's action with Robcat's action file. The chor action and the action file are indeed blending (chor action's blend mode is set to 'Blend'), but it's a little rough at the moment.

My Tin Servant doesn't play all the way to the end of the clip though, so it looks really funny to see him going at it when there is no longer any music. I tried using the "crop range" in the property panel, but if I crop the action any shorter than it full length, the Tin Servant just stops moving the whole time the action file is supposed to be taking over. Does anyone know how to crop an imported action so only the first 35 frames or so play in the choreography?

This is mostly about fine tuning the Tinman motion...2_01_55_Take4CommentsMP4.mov

It will be tough to re-use the sample I put up, it's really just intended as an example of how the general motion goes. You really need to adapt it to your particular poses. I get into that in the crit.

thanks, Holmes!

Take 5

Holmes! Dude - that is awesome man biggrin.gif
robcat2075
HI Holmes,

That looks super! You got the hard landing on his last move working great.

Two small items...

-it looks like he's got a golf ball in his mouth at the end. Is that his tongue?

-Can you reduce the popping on his left knee from around 178 to the end? Scaling the leg with squetch will fix it.

thanks!

Robert

Take 6

I'm also attaching a pic of Tinman's mouth on the last frame. Hopefully final lighting and rendering will take care of whatever the issue is.
robcat2075
The IKFK switch where he pushes off from the door seemed to have gotten messed up somehow so I fixed that and softened the armdrop at the end. I also adjusted his Eyeaimer so he's looking more at TinServant at the end.

If this one turns out to have excessively long render times I have some ideas on how to reduce that.
