Denoise Part 1 - Using A:M as a compositor for 'noisy' images.

Denoise Part 2 - Creating a new Denoise Composite

I always get lost in all those image icons in the PWS. More of these please.

Edit: An idea might be to include the image used so others can immediately follow along.

Here's an image from the write up. Denoise in upper left and without in lower right.

The images (see the write up) show the extremes you can get on the default setting.
For instance, the mountains look smooth... the trees get lost.
In a scene where the action happens quickly that may be desired.

Those into Ambiance Occlusion will really love this Post Effect!

Well I set up denoise to work as a camera post effect in v14a5 and it displays the denoised result in the screen but does not save the denoise result off as the rendered frame. Can I assume this is a bug?

If you ask me it's a bug... I also discover when working on a non '30-FPS' it constantly sets it back to 30-FPS...

Follow this and the postfilter will be saved:

1- Import the image(-sequence)
2- Make new composite
3- Drag'n'drop the color(-alpha) to the new composite
4- Right-click on the image within the post-section and choose denoise
5- Double click on composite

Point 4 makes the difference.

Thats doesn't work for me either. I wonder if it's the alpha channel! My Denoise Icon has a flat black icon after I drop in the composite. Its as if it is only denoising the alpha channel.

Edit: Yep - thats it. Turning the alpha channel off now renders and saves the denoised version. Reported on AM:Reports

'...after I drop in the composite...' isn't step 4

I was following the instructions from James part 1.
