I've started to relight the 2_07_080, since there has been changes in the layout. Anyway, when rendering I keep getting weird black areas in the image that should not appear. I just don know whats causing them. The black areas are very easy to spot on the furnace (on the right), and on big parts of the background. Any ideas? I've tried to remove the volumetric, shadows and reflections but they wont go away

It looks like some parts of the set are not receiving any light. Are light lists used in the set I wonder?
That's strange! Is that dark part of the furnace a seperate object? It might be worth checking the normals of the dark area.
Sorry I can't really offer any solid advice. It has me puzzled too.

Nice render. Don't know about the problem. Maybe you might consider a hint of fog/smoke when it get resolved.

Due to the black areas I had to rebuild the lightning almost from scratch. I managed to narrow down the problem to be lightlist issues (not sure if it was my fault or a bug, but it has been reported). The lightlist also gave the "fog" tint by the rooflights volumetric, eventhough I think it looked somehow nice, it was uncontrollable. After the light rebuild I was able to show more of the details in the image and I also feel that Tinman stands out quite nice (that is my opinion though). Let me know what you think of this render. as a sidenote I can tell I've played with fog but I didn't like the result, but I probably will do more test since I want to achieve a dusty effect

That is looking very good now, Stian!

Nice contrast!

Looking good Stian. Maybe try using DOF instead of the fog.

Thats a good looking render! TW stands out well.

It does look very nice Stian, TM looks great. Those concrete/stone areas also look terrific, actually the whole background looks terrific, and interesting - but I notice that 1 stray black square "dot" on TM (as I'm sure you do too) - tis a tough problem I'm sure.

Thank you guys. I'm glad you like it

Yeah I've noticed. I've seen this kind of render artifact before on my Bismarck. They tend to pop up on highly detailed renders, I'm writing a bug report on it as we speak

Hopefully, fixed in next Alpha.
