Hi everyone. Something i've always wondered about in Hash: Why can i only render with Final quality? If i try any of the other options (e.g., Wireframe or Shaded & Wireframe) it either just renders all the frames blank or renders all these funky vertical lines that move around. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?
Thanks,

It should work, I use it quite often. I think you might need to update your graphic card's drivers.

It could be that you are rendering with an alpha channel. If so then with a black background the lines would not show up.. they will be there if you open it in a paint program or the compositor. Check to see that the file you render has an actual file size in your file browser. If so then it should have all the info. and the alpha is just masking out the background you'd expect to see.

Brad,

I just did a shaded and wireframe render in11.1
and had some trouble too with the strange lines showing up.

Believe it or not, it had to do with having my lights too close.
The lines were the pyramidal shapes that show the wireframe edges a light's area of coverage.
So, I just moved my lights back. That's just a quick a fix, but all I needed for the render.

As to actually not showing the wireframe on the model, I can't help you there.
I'm on a Mac, like you, but it works fine for me.
This was surprising because a couple versions back
I couldn't get wire frame and shading output either.
I haven't rendered the file in 12 or 13 yet.

By the way, nice work on those Animation Mentor pieces.
