Experimenting with hair grass. Big render hit, 1 hr and 45 mins to render 4 passes. It was around 30 mins without the grass, I think.

Unfortunately I think it's worth the render hit. Maybe it can be reduced a little. Also there'll be a render farm doing the work. Good stuff.

How about limiting the hair just to the biuts of ground that are visible. Anything from a given point in the distance can be rendered with a Mat! How much would this help render time?

I'm using a density map, I'll cut it down just a bit and see what happens. I also reduce the density in the material. I just haven't had time to rerednder.
