Full Version: I found an issue in the Tin Castle design.

Hi you awesome modelers,

I envy your ability and commend you on your amazing models you have create thus far for the TWO movie. biggrin.gif

Now that I've hopefully got you all feeling proud I have to post my complaint huh.gif

I'm currently working on sequences 1_05_29 and 1_05_30. I pretty much finished the first one (so I thought) and began working on the second one. I had noticed that in the second sequence, the castle design appeared different but because I was just animating I thought nothing of it.

So I started working on the 1st sequence (which was a take 2). I had to polish a relatively simple shot. Tin walks from the doorway of the throne room to the balcony. I noticed the previous person who worked on the shot, didn't animate the step down from the doorway. Tin was walking through the floor of the throne room so I fixed this by reposed tin 1st initial steps. What I thought would be a simple task, turned out to take a bit of time to get it just right.

So now, Tin steps down from the slightly elevated floor (a single step) and lands on a slightly lowered balcony.

Right now you're thinking...yeah well, get to the point! Almost there please stay with me.

As I said in the beginning, I figured I was done, so I started working on the second shot.

I loaded up 1_05_30 and noticed that castle difference again but paid no attention to it and started to match the pose of the first frame to the end of my last frame of 1_05_29. I did and decided to check it so I edited both shots together. The difference of the castle designs made it difficult for me to see if I had it right so "very long story short" I matched them.

Here's where the difference was and this is my lead in to my question......

my first sequence was not displaying an action object which was a gold frame around the doorway AND FLOOR. Because this was missing on the first shot, I animated to what I had. After getting the action object to display as it does in the second sequence, I noticed something that wasn't good.

The gold trim that goes across the doorway is elevated quite a bit. When I looked at the walk animation again (with the gold frame on), Tin is knee deep in the door frame trim. I could move him up to fix this but it's so high that he'd have to literally jump down to get to the balcony laugh.gif (he really needs to talk to the architect hehe).

This really needs to be fixed. the models I'm talking about are:

Frank Tower and WindowsFramesFrank Tower

I'm really hoping the floor part of the door frame can be adjusted to match the floor to the throne room so I don't have to adjust the animation. To make my shot work, this will have to be adjusted so I don't have to make Tin jump down to the balcony through a doorway.

Sorry so long

I'm supposed to make some changes to the castle George.. I'll look into it and see what I can do. It'll probably take me a while though, so I'd move on for now if you're done with the shot and I'll let you know when and if things change.
