Here's the start of Nimmie house set. Still alot to do.
Xtaz
Niiiiice start ... great shadows there .....
are you using FillLight ??? if you are i suggest you to change it to green...

martin
That is beautiful, Mark! I wanna live at Nimmie Amee's House.
Rodney
Got any weeping willow trees in the inventory?
I can't help but think it would fit in really well there.*

Nice work thus far Mark.

*Ooops. Maybe that is a weeping willow over on the right?
mtpeak2
Just a small update.
Dhar
Ah! You added the path - nice work.
mtpeak2
The path was added using Pixosaur (A:M Paint). I plan on redoing some of the sets I did using it.
KenH
Looking great Mark.
ypoissant
Very nice set. This looks like a cosy place.
Fab
Nice work! Mark
mtpeak2
Well, I couldn't keep from posting images any longer, Rodney will be happy.

Here's an update to Nimmies house. Most of the texturing is done, still need to do the porch floor and railings and add to the exterior walls.

Did some remodeling to the house, rebuilt the porch and shed rooves and modified the porch framing. Chimney will be remodeled according to what the interior fireplace will be, so no texturing yet.

Props (barrel, stump and axe, and log have been textured, but not completed).

Built a new camera rig, light rig, skydome and mountain ring (all in one) for building exterior sets, pose sliders setup for positioning. I will use this model for most of the forest sets that I work on. Mountains needs some work though.

Well, hopefully I'll get some comments on all aspects that were mentioned. Thanks.

Lovely cozy setting - the dappling from the shadows from the leaves looks terrific. Looks very real. Reminds me of a couple of places that I've visited (around Yosemite, various places in western US).

I wonder if you have any plans for putting in some colorful flowers? I see there are window boxes. Also perhaps a prolific red climbing rose vine on one of the outer posts of the front porch, with dark blue/green leaves spreading across the roof of the porch might look nice.

Nice job.
higginsdj
Holy crap - WOW........... Thats amazing.

Cheers
mtpeak2
Well there not flower boxes (just timber framing showing), but I plan on putting flowers infront of the porch. I like the idea of the flowers vines around the posts, I'll see what I can do.
mtpeak2
Added the flowers to the front of the porch. Also added the vine wrapped around the post, acoss roof and down the post on the other side, need to add second emitter for the flower on the vine.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaauuuuuutiful shot !!!!! Congratulations !!!!!
Dhar
This is truly breath taking. Some red and yellow splashes here and there and you'll have a Thomas Kinkade master piece biggrin.gif

Superb work.
mtpeak2
That's guys, I may have an update later (busy today). I got Nancy's vine growing, but need to find a rose image for the flowers for it. That will be the red Dhar, and I'll see if I can find some yellow flowers to scatter around here and there, too.
NancyGormezano
here's a pink climber example for variations of rose flower stages - could change it to red or leave it pink.

Lavendar bush & lilac tree & blue delphineums would also look nice - (ummm... but you know me - I would make it have a riot of color for a flower garden)

You know me too well. I'm extatic! smile.gif

Beautiful imagery Mark (both this and your forest scene).
mtpeak2
New update.

Moved log and added flowers, borrowed the well and log pile from the winkie village, added flowers to vine (hard to see), added hanging flowers and wind chime to porch (also hard to see).

I'll render a closer shot tomorrow.
itsjustme
That is already fantastic, Mark! Great job, as always.
Paul Forwood
That looks great, Mark!

The only things that look like they need some attention are the chimney texturing and the mountain texture.

mtpeak2
Thanks guys.

Yes Paul, the mountains need work and I was waiting to see what the interior fireplace was going to be before texturing, may end up remodelling.
Fab
Wow! very nice shot, Mark !
Dhar
If a psychiatrist ever tell me to go to that place where I find peace, this cottage would be it smile.gif

Nice going dude.
nimblepix
Wow, wow, wow, etc.
mtpeak2
New update. Remodelled chimney and added smoke. Shadows seem to be lighter, not sure what that is all about, need to look into that, may have something to do with the smoke particles.
wedgeeguy
That is wonderously fantastico ... and it looks good too!
KenH
Really exquisit. I agree with all the crits so far. I think also it seems sort of isolated there.....maybe another out house on the other side would fix that. Or a fence....or....
Also, I'd like to see some flowerbeds (I made some flowers way back....they should be in the miscellaneous folder in the props folder). Nimmie needs to have something out there to keep that lazy Chopfypt busy. tongue.gif
mtpeak2
Thanks Ken.

I will be adding a fence at some point. There are flowers in front of the porch, hanging on the porch and behind the log. A patch of sun flowers would be nice along the fence, when I put it in.
mtpeak2
Here's some new renders, one closer and different angle and the start of new texturing of the mountains.
LeeAnderson
Wow! That looks fantastic! Great work! The foreground seems a little blurry to me, but that's all I could see.

Lee
mtpeak2
Thanks Lee, if you are referring to the ground textures, I'll probably will be redoing them.

Here's another update with a forest at the base of the mountain.
ypoissant
This looks stunning. Great work. I'd like cooler (bluer) shadows but the scene already look fantastic as is.
KenH
Sheesh....I thought you said you were just a rigger Mark. tongue.gif
mtpeak2
Well Ken, that's what a few months working on TWO will do.

Oh, and Ken, just wait til you see the camera, light, skydome and mountain rig I'm developing, for the outdoor sets I'm working on.
KenH
It was well worth it then. Consider my breath baited on those new props.
mtpeak2
It's just one prop, Ken. It's an all-in-one model, with pose sliders for all the setups.
mtpeak2
Redid the ground textures. Created a new bitmaplus material for the ground plane, this will be applied to to all ground plane sets that I'm working on. Also added a bump map to the path and touched up the textures on the mountains.

So, what do you think?
PeterS
I haven't read the post to see if there is a reason no leaves are present, but all else is absolutely stunning. Fantastic job!
higginsdj
Big question is.... how will it render in movie frames?

Cheers
mtpeak2
David, are you refering to animation or resolution?
higginsdj
From the image it seems like the ground texture is very pixelated (maybe just ther resolution of the render) and in a moving camera may result in those crawling pixels (not sure how else to explain it)

Cheers
KenH
Looks fine to me. I assume the leaves will be back on the trees in the final version.
mtpeak2
Yes, the leaves will be back, just wanted to render it quicker.
Nunsofamerica
Wow, that looks really great. I love the textures.
KenH
I had an idea for this set. In one of the animations SC mentions cabbages. So, there could be a plot of vegetables.....rows and rows of cabbages, carrots, potatoes, etc. It should be fairly easy....most of the models would be copies.
c-wheeler
If I didn't know for a fact that I made that model - I would never have thought it was anything to do with me. That 's a stunning job - I love the the look youve given it biggrin.gif - it all looks so real. Amazing work
Chris
totlover
love the decals... that almost looks like it came out of a magazine with the name of "Awesome Stuff"... lol... but that is a superb job
