Hey guys,
my brother has G4 Powerbook, about 4years old, original harddrive.
He has a problem starting the machine up.... after he logs in his security password.
What happens is it says that the mac os X starting up....
seeing progress bar, then
the screen goes blue and in upper right hand corner there is a small
magnifying glass icon. When he moves the mouse onto the mag glass icon, the multi colored
spin wheel appears and it stays in that and that just continues on for ever.... basically.
If he moves the curser off the mag glass icon, it turns back to a pointer.
And the hard drive does not sound like it is spinning that this point.
Do mac heads out there know anything about this..... like is the hard drive dead?
