I'm back to the buulding of forest sets, for now. Since I didn't use asssembly actions in the first few I decided to make tree group models that use actions to place the trees (since most of the sets are not build yet).
These can be dragged and dropped into a choreography to quickly populate a set with trees, we'll see how this works out. I plan on making at least five tree group models which will have a few actions for tree placement. This will allow you to stack the actions on the tree group models to add more trees to the group.
Fab, I hope you don't mind I used your grass textures, great images. I'll plan on redoing some of the other sets with these.
Here's the first of the group models with one action, I'll have to test stacking the actions.

Great of you to do that, Mark. We really need outdoor "tree" sets.
I already changed your original 1_04_02 set to use Action Objects (but I didn't change your project).
The realtime rendering doesn't seem to speed up when the set is made "invisible" (Hash will need to look into that), so I take the Actions off of the set while I'm animating. Remember, that when you reapply the Actions for final render, that you need to set "Add" and "Hold Last Frame" on each stacked Action's Properties dialog.

In the experiment I just tried, you only need the hold last frame turned on.

Three stacked actions.

Here's the second with 2 stacked actions (on the left). I setup a quick scene with both models, the ground plane is the default model with color and displacement maps.

Holy smoly, those look good!
Right now, Holmes needs a "final" set to go with his 2_05 proxy. And, as of today, Holmes is moving onto 2_06 Layout, which requires another outdoor set.

Great job Mark ! Of course you can use these images. I did them with The Gimp and everybody which need some can use them.

I think I've been there before... in Wyoming. Sure looks like it to me.
Keep it up Mark. Great looking scenes.

Thanks Rodney, but I wish it looked like Wyoming.

I'm getting frustrated again with building these sets, this was supposed to be fixed in 13n.
We may have to find another alternative to leaf hair.

That different pov looks photo-realistic. Fantastic Mark.

Well... there were a few more rocks to bust your knees on.
Your scenes looks easier to run across.
Hang in there Mark!

They're looking great. As long as they render well for the final rendering, I don't think we should change them.

Ouch!
That is the most extreme case of displaced CPs that I have yet seen with hair. I have seen this glitch many times on a smaller scale though.
Absolutely beautiful job on the trees, Mark!!!
I hope that the guys at Hash Inc can home in on what is causing this.
