Downloaded and installed 13.0n without any problems on my Windows 2000 Pro system. I really have to hand it to you folks for working so hard on fixing and putting out a great product. Version 13.0m was the most stable version yet on my system. Looking forward to using this version.

Some nice fixes/additions in this one. Very speedy on my end too.**

First on my list to investigate:
- New PWS Filters *Hmmm... not sure what's changed here.
- Rotate Manipulator (Flight Controls) *Outstanding. Not sure I'm seeing everything but its the best Rotation has been ever.
- Animated Distortion *My model disappearing. Need to keep investigating.

It appears I forgot to save the model prior to working with Animated Distortion.
Working like a charm (w/ one minor issue I'll report to A:M Reports if persistent. There's an obvious work around so I won't go into detail here).

I you click the triangle to the right of "All" and "Selected" and do "new filter" the popup box has a tab for "Type" with lots of things in it.

what's changed here?

I'm not sure what is meant by 'flight controls'. Thats the element I'll have to be educated on.
Whats changed for me is that I can now type in and scroll in the PWS properties whereas it use to fight me every time. Very smooth on my end.

Its possible my recent upgrade of RAM and reboot helped to clean the cobwebs out too.

As far as 'Flight Controls' are concerned... not sure.
Perhaps something (flight contols?) was removed that wasn't suppose to be there?



Thats been there awhile.
I scrolled down the list comparing it to another recent v13 release and they looked the same.
I got tired of looking after awhile (!) so might have missed a new one.
Or... perhaps these didn't all work before and now they do.

Perhaps a trip to A:M Reports will reveal the answers.

Yup. The PWS New Filters was a fix. Didn't know it was broke as it worked the last time I tried it.
The 'flight controls' on the Rotate Manipulator were another bug that is now fixed.
Seriously though... rotation works better for me than it ever worked before.
Let that be a lesson to me then... update RAM and reboot more often!

Sorry folks... false alarm on enhanced features.
But... they are more likely to be working better now.

On the Hash web site, under software updates, it states that the mac file is 'offline for updating, check back soon'. I was able to download version N from this thread.

Same with version M.

I could be wrong, but that looks like the installer got errors while downloading...you should probably download it again.

I've had the same problem a year ago with an old version (Same CD as I used before) It occurred when I tried to reinstall A:M. I wasn't able to solve it back then, so I installed A:M on an other computer without any problem. I hope you're able to solve it though... I think it must be a problem with old files or registry entries.

First I would try to redownload A:M 13.0 (n). Try it again and if the problem occurs again, try this out:
Be sure you have got the A:M 13.0 (M)-installationfile anywhere, so you can reinstall A:M if the steps below are not successful!!!

1.) If you already have a A:M-Installation installed on your system, uninstall it.
2.) If you have HAMR installed, uninstall that too.
3.) After that, go to your registery (-> start->run->regedit) and search for "Hash Inc" folders.
If you find any, deleted them. (-> this shouldnt be neccessary unless something went wrong)
Be careful what you do in your registery. Make sure you dont deleted/change anything else.

Now reinstall A:M 13.0 (n) on your system. You dont have to install the version which is on the Yeti-CD.
The CD is only the dongle for A:M and you can start with any version of A:M which is compatible to the Yeti-CD with it.
Now reinstall HAMR.

Normally, it shouldnt be a problem to install a version of A:M on another version, but sometimes, something unpredictable can occure and something goes wrong.

I downloaded n update again, same error, i cant install.

Then i unsintall A:M and re-installed from the last update and the v13stuff, now works fine.

After updating to 2006 I can't install an update. I just got the CD today and after installing 13n it breaks it and it will not run. The CD HASH2007. The version that it installs looks like 13l. It's either i or L. It could be L.

The regular Net installer is making a default path of 'C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V13.0\HAMRVI~1'.

If you choose a different folder, it forces the 'HAMRVI~1' part.

I had to copy the contents of the 'HAMRVI~1' folder back over my normal v13.0 install.

EDIT: Strangely, this did not occur on my NetRender server box. Hmm... I don't have HAMRViewr on it.

I just installed on a freah computer with the version I recieved in the mail and it worked. I installed the update and it broke it. Could someone please help. Thanks.

If that update doesn't work suggest going back one version... v13m.
And report the problem. At least then you should be operational while you are investigating the fix.

I went back a version and it did the same thing. I'm starting to believe that it's the CD. The message that pops up is as follows: Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application.

I am have a problem with verion 13n. After eight hours of rendering a final MOV file, which was 63% complete, figured it would be complete when I got up the next morning. Big mistake. AM terminated losing the file. It also somehow changed the Cho file.

Also trying to figure out why my cloth is not working as in previous verizon.
Just thought of another issue. I normal do the AM work on my slower computer. When ready to render I do an embet all and tranfer the file to a faster and twice the memory computer deciated computer. With verzion 13n things were scrambled. I had to copy the files associated with my project seperatly which curred the problem.

Learn from this! If the render's going to take an extended period, *always* render to individual files, such as TGAs. That way, should rendering be terminated for any reason, you can easily pick up where you left off. Then glue all those TGAs together using whatever tools you have to hand.

The majority of TWO files require v13. If you only have v12 (or earlier) this will limit what you can work on.

Hmmm, I wasn't planning an update until AM2007. Ok, how limited will I be in working on TWO. When does AM2007 come out, and where do I buy an upgrade from one version to the other?

The first week of January is usually the release time for the new upgrade. It'll have the Tinwoodman of Oz picture on it (winner of this year's Mascot contest).

Working on TWO is limited only by your commitments and abilities.

When the 2007 CD becomes available in January, and if I want to upgrade to that version, would I receive a new TWO CD? What happens to my Yeti - 2006 CD?

I don't think you need a new CD. You can still keep the Yeti CD yet it will be upgraded to be v14. I don't think v14 is that far off from this one.

I am speculating, however. We'll know soon enough the details of what needs to be done.

This is the one I'm having all my issues with. Didn't any one read my posts? I just upgraded and that's the CD they sent me.

Hey, I downloaded and tested version n and all my rendered movies are black. I rendered one tga still and it was way too bright, like glow was turned way up for the whole cho. What am I overlooking?

Is AO turned on or Global Illuminiation in the chor?

I've been testing further and I've found that QuickTime movies render black. Avi's render fine, and targa files render ok except they ignore the camera's background color.

Dave, I'm not seeing a setting for Global Illumination. There's a chor setting for Glow Intensity that appears to be set by default to 200%, and a Global Ambience Type that defaults to "None".

AO is off by default.

My realtime driver is set to OpenGL, but I tried Direct3D v8 and got pretty much the same results on a couple of tests.

When rendering to tga's, make sure (if you want to maintain the camera background color) to turn off alpha in the render options.

Look in the properties for the chor, it should be there under global ambience type.

Okay, I fiddled around a bit and got the QT renders to work. I had been rendering with the h.264 codec and that wasn't working (after a 60 frame render the mov would consist of one frame of a blank stage) but with Sorenson 3 (the original default setting, which wasn't working before...go figure) it now works fine.

Just wanted to test the water here I just upgraded from j to n and now I can't final render any particles/fur; it brings open the render to file window but never starts up, anyone else having this issue. (I'm on a mac g4)any one know where i can get a copy of j again?
