Has any one experienced this? here is my lay out:

Groups-

-path with spherical combiner and regular attributes one set as alpha
-base which is a simbiot material

they are stacked in this order under the model, i did have them backwards before and the alpha was completely ignored, it showed white under the surface and no clolor but nice blurred edges, this way the alpha works but the edges are not blurred, it is a hard line now.

I need them to be seperate since I dont want the bump of the simbiot to effect the path. is this a bug or am I missing something.

I have also tried replacing the alpha channel with the darktree and get even worse results.
