I looked through the documentation, and can't find an answer. Sorry if this has been asked before. Is there a way to place a decal on individual hairs? or hair systems?

Example would be using a hair system to create feathers on a peacock. Where you have the shapes of the feathers controlled by the hair system. But each hair in the system has it's own decalled texture.

Is this possible?

Thanks for any responses in advance.

Peace,
dingo

EDIT- found this thread http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23360 from Johnl this is exactly what I am talking about is there a tutorial for how to do this?

Each emitter can have it's own image. the Brightness variation will keep them from looking completely identical. And you can have a practically unlimited number of emitters in the system.

So create an emitter in the system for each image that you have, and use the density of the different emitters to control the overall distribution in the hair system.

Thanks Will. Do you know if there is any online documentation or tuturial anywere on doing that? Specifically the texture. So I guess the texture is treated like a cookie-cutter for each strand of hair?
