I'm cross-posting here from my WIP thread because of some hair behavior problems. I've got two hair materials on a christmas tree model. One material behaves fine, the other looks windblown. I'm comparing settings for the two materials but haven't seen anything obvious yet.

All comments and suggestions welcome.

I know you all are dying to know how this turned out (62 views and no replies...is that some kind of record?). I created a second tinsel material and for some reason it, too, acted like it was in a wind tunnel.

I finally ditched the tinsel materials, and since I could see that the pine needles hair material was behaving, I just saved as, and that version I colored gold and used it on the tinsel. Problem solved, but I wish I knew what setting I had on that caused the dynamics to be active. I'm still stumped.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, the final animation is here. Please keep in mind that the text links I have below the animation are currently dummy links. And turn on your speakers.
