Hi,
I got that flash of Tinwoodman would made some sound when he moves cause he's made of metal...
Maybe something as the sound a medieval armour would do ? ...it would be funny ?

Yeah. Great idea.

tinman walking?

hee hee

Hmmm.....I wonder if AM can put a sound in a smartskin for a bone. That way when a bone is rotated eg knees the sound would play.

It could sound like a mess though with all the joints moving.

I was thinking the same thing Ken. But for the most part, tinwoodman is a well oiled machine, the only time you may here anything would be his feet hitting the ground and maybe the shoulderpads. Internal sounds, gears turning, perhaps (very low level). This also may be distracting when he's talking with arms and hands.

We should try it anyway...

...and if the tin noise gets too irritating Scarecrow can oil him again. tongue.gif

Hi,
I think this kind of noise should be done by a sound effect pro guys who act the sound in real time...
you know kind of guys using different stuff to produce the sound he want

...mostly every films is using this technic, even if they record the live soundtrack with the video...mostly every door, sitting, wind ,walk sound etc. are done on a special soundtrack afterward

It would be a lot better for us than using little recorded clip assigned directly on each character moves..
as we all do in our personnal work ...this is serious stuff cause it quickly turn into a nightmare of sound where cacophony is hard to avoid

That's my tought about it

What Al said!

Do we have any resident Folley artists hanging around the A:M Community?

I think you mean a Foley technician. It would be nice if we could afford one. smile.gif

It's a Foley Artist, named after Jack Foley.
My area is sound/music, including sound design (and Foley). I was waiting to see if anyone else popped up and offered sound for the TWO project. If not, then I'm interested. But I'm a little busy at the mo; what I could do is up a couple of animations (w/sound) I designed and/or supervised, so you could see and hear, and let me know. It might take me a while though to dig them out and reduce for web.
I recommend you get a full sound design for TWO - animation, more than live action, can live or die by sound. It would be unfortunate to have a great visual animation undermined by weak sound. cheers p

Hi
this would be cool Popster.
It would be nice to hear some sample of your work here anytime

I think recording a folley soundtrack after a scene is completed would be nifty to hear.
It will surely add life to the animation itself
...everybody know that sound is a great part of any animation.

On my side, I won't care too much about Tinwoodman sound at this time , but I'll keep in mind that a foley soundtrack added will bring the scene to a new level.
Even voice tracks can be touched up afterward ...after all they do it when they translate something to another language.

Thanks for raising your hand up for this task
for what I'm concern , I'm for it at 100%
