Hi,

I almost didn't post this -- if I had done the audio it would have been half decent. Still it may help some and... its free... 30 minutes of modeling from a sketch done by 'case' plus the resulting model (I hope case doesn't mind). The post with the video and model link is here (the post has info in it):

Here's a tad more info from a later post... to add to the above post and video link and model:

There was a lot of good stuff in that tut but with no audio these are wasted. Like always building only one half of any symmetrical object even though you build both halfs to see the shape (only one half counts), how to cut a model in half without leaving all those pesky cross splines (copy half, select all and delete, paste the half back), how to use the deformation box for more then just deformation (to evenly taper an object) and other little goodies. Next time.

I've seen many AM video tuts -- almost all of them are truly awesome -- however, many, as they go along, do things the 'long way' instead of using ways that are much faster and/or better (this has nothing to do with what the tut's about but other little things done as they go along). I've been seriously thinking about putting together a tut on all these little things. Perhaps these people have a reason for doing things in a way that takes 60 seconds instead of an alternate way that takes 5 seconds... I don't know. Plus other little things that I've picked up over the last 5 years (Note: NOT just evenings and weekends but 10 to 12 hours -- or more -- a day, 7 days a week -- I'm retired).

Perhaps some help,
Rusty
