Does anyone have a bone material or a hi-rez bone image that can be made into a material?
The Darktrees bone material isn't quite what I am looking for.
I would like something a little darker and more porous.
Thanks,
David

Chad,
The bone material has some lines running vertically through the material.
I need it for spinal vertebrea, which are short and round. The DT material looks like it is intended for a femur or other long lone.
Thanks,
David

Chad,
I need something like this
http://biology.clc.uc.edu/fankhauser/Labs/...e_Features.htmlLook down in the thoracic and lumbar areas.
The spinal vertebrae are quite porous.
Speaking of Tweaking.....
Can you tweak the technoborg texture?
Is there a way to make the green globe/orb a variable so the size can be increased?
Also the depth of the material (I think there are variables in the file to control the layers of borg. It looks like there are 3 layers).
Thanks,
David

Sure thing, I can add any tweak you like, I will have a bone material for you later today.

Chad,
For what ever reason, the tweaks have no effect.
All I can change is the scale in the material itself.
I have seen this in the other Darktrees materials.
Is there something I need to change (I edit the material itself, not the instance of it on the model).
Using V13.0F
Thanks,
David

I am using 13j, with the material open, select a tweak and make an adjust ment, AM will not update it right away, you need to click on the material to update, or press the space bar to refresh or if using a 3 button mouse click the center button over the material to see the adjustments. you might have to make large adjustments to see the effect. let me know if this works. I have to do this on all Darktrees created in AM.

Chad,
I can tweak the colors but not the pit bump scale or densities.
I don't think it is something on your end, as I can't tweak the other DT materials with the exception of color and scale either.

that is strange, cuz I opened them up in Am here and tested them. Did you open the material and refesh the screen after the adjustments?
did you try the techno borg material I uploaded, try the density tweak on the top and let me know.

Chad,
Yes that helped.
That material (bone) looks very good.
I'll test the borg material in a bit (different project).

Chad,
Is there a tweak to increase the spacing in the shells (Borg).
I would like to give it more depth in the material.
Also, is there a way to tweak the green orb size?
Perhaps add a glow tweak to the green orb?
Sorry if this is asking a lot....
Thanks a ton!

Chad,
I see that is exactly what the line spacing tweak does (depth) excellent!

ok, here is what you can do. I added a tweak for the orbs. once you set your color of the orb create a new attribute on the same material, your attribute needs to be on top of the simbiont one, when you create it by default it is on the bottom so just drag it on top. set the surface color of the attibute to the same color as your orb or actually to what ever color you want your glow to be. then turn on glow. apply your material and render, you might have to turn down the glow radius in the chor to get it to look right but that should work. it is not perfect but an good work around. some of the process in dark tree do not carry over to AM so I can not add a glow to it and have it look right. I checked on the spacing of the shells and it is the same thing, AM does not handle the file same as darktree and there is no tweak for it.[attachmentid=20923]
I hope this works for you if not let me know and I will do a few screen shots to add in.
Chad
