Thanks there gschumsky. I real think AM should have a car making tutorial. That Batmobile tutorial help point out stuff I would never have guess in years
Well, as you may have noticed, tutorials are made by us, the users of AM. There are plenty of tutorials on how to make a face, each based on that modeler's preferences, and even in some cases, later one's are better because someone has figured out "a bettter way" to accomplish the task. Rodger is one of the foremost mechanical modelers here, mainly because that's what he does, both in AM and in real life. He builds car models just as if a real car were being made, panel by panel. and he's not shy about using patches or splines, mainly for control of the surfaces. That approach works for him, though his models tend to be extremely patch heavy. An example is the VW bus I asked him to make (you can find on the CD), based on a 21 window bus I had at the time, which I made some corrections on to make it more accurate-since I have a bus in my garage and he doesn't. The main problem with the model though, is if you have a slow computer, or not a lot of RAM, it takes a very long time to load. All the windows in the roof are modeled, not cut with booleans.
So, I would suggest skimming through the forums looking at how people made their cars (some post all the details, some don't). And if you think the work you're doing on yours is worthy of sharing with others, then post it as you progress, and maybe make it into a tute afterwards. I agree, there aren't enough tutorials on cars, or anything mechanical for that fact. If we can get some of the other "car builders" to contribute, that would help. John Bigboote did a model of the Mach 5 from Speedracer. That would be a good one to have.
Also, you'll see as you do more modeling in AM, you'll get better and much more efficient.
