Hi Hashers ....
it is with pleasure that I announce my entrance in the TWO project.
I was designated to model the witch's cottage ... I already downloaded the mock-up and i began to refine it ... is there some suggestion regarding the materials used in the construction? Wood? Stones? Straw? Mix ? ... I am drawing a sketch and I will put it soon here in the forum ...

I don't think anyone has thought too much about it... It is basically a background prop for a couple scenes in Sequence 1_04 but it still needs to look
evil and foreboding - It's up to you Marcos. Mark (mtpeak2) Skodacek is doing the trees and foliage for the Witch's House set so you might want to contact him and see if he has any ideas? I know he was talking about gnarled trees, rotted stumps, and a dark, cloudy sky.

Hi
I would have some use of those "gnarled trees, rotted stumps, and a dark, cloudy sky"
For the outside Yoop castle, If they are available somewhere, let me know.
Maybe they would be on SVN too ?
Thanks

Very cool, Marcos!

Aug 23 2006, 05:42 AM
Oh, yeah... That's evil.
It needs a dirty window because that's where the Witch's yellow eyes can be seen. (We never actually see the Witch, only her evil yellow glowing eyes.) And don't forget some nasty, evil crows perched on the house, and maybe there should be an attic window for an evil owl to roost in.

Wow! That is some cool interpretation of the Witch cottage. I like it. But I think it needs to be larger.
alweb
Aug 23 2006, 08:52 AM
Hey ! great stuff ! very artistic.
comments,
-The door a bit larger, one plank larger ? , the door frame more straight?
-door hinges, window, chimney?
It seem hard to open the door outside way...maybe you think to open the door inside way?
I like the rock basement and the death tree girder !
be carefull with the "clay" effect
nice work again!

H everybody .... im speechless.... thank you for the incentive words, the entrance's hall is just a part of cottage, there will be another construction lower on the left side...
AL .... I will make the changes proposed by you
having another construction on the side, should I increase the initial model?
thanks again ....

This is one of the absolute best things about collaborative projects like TWO.
I never would have created a cottage like that... This one fits the witch perfectly. (Agree it should be larger)
The different styles that are going to be seen In TWO from the Winkie Village to Tin Castle... from Loonville to Yoop's Castle and everything in between... just amazing. I'm in awe of the talent represented in TWO.
...and with every post TWO just keeps on getting better.

Aug 24 2006, 09:15 AM
Better & better - that is so so so extremely terrific! I just love it.
I love the tin roof - I love the stylized trees - am I guessing that the trees will move their arms and have creepy wood grain faces ?

Aug 24 2006, 09:19 AM
Wow, just awesome. I would love to see the roof made of twigs and sticks, but I think that might be pushing it, haha.

comments and sugestions are welcome

Just saw this. Really cool Xtaz! The step looks quite high....maybe another small one at the door would rectify that. Have you scaled it to the witch character?
Also, if you're putting grass in.....black/grey grass might look cool.

At this point, Marcos, the set modelers
need to be texturers too! So, take command and make that set complete for rendering. In fact, when you're done, render a beauty shot and we'll post in on the Front Page of the TWO Wiki.

This cottage is nothing short of amazing! Such creativity! ...
I'm... what can I say? BRAVO!
just a little suggestion: plank textures are much too strong! Now it looks that the cottage is made of treebark... it looked scarrier b/w

I am not getting to access the models through SVN... in Two Movie Tab ( Comunity ) i cant find a RECEIVE button ... just UPDATE and COMMIT buttons and they dont works..
Can anybody send the witch for me?
Next update Ill work in terrain...

Martin, do you want Marcos to build the set or me? Because I was thinking of swamp land, small pond maybe (supply of frogs and toads)

update 5
- texture changed
- added witch
- added new textured terrain
I didnt like the last texture... the cottage was transformed in a baby's house

the texture was uniform.
Now I used a real texture in woods and the result was much much much better ... i really liked it ....
Hey Mark I didnt know that you were working in this set, I thought you were just modeling the trees, in fact I need them, can you send them to me ?

Hey Marcos. This is looking fantastic.
As for the trees, it might be better to wait til you are hooked up to svn to get them. The probem is that if you put all these trees into the set, once you put the set onto the svn all the links to the trees, materials, images will be broken. Then when loading the choreography or project, you will have to relink them, all of them, not just the models in the objects folder, all the shortcuts as well. I know, this happened to me with the other set, I embedded the trees in the choreography by mistake and it took forever to relink everything. So you might want to just put some proxy trees in for now.
Any chance of that small pond?
